Muhammad Faisal Anwar

Group Executive - CIO, United Bank Limited

Faisal Anwar is the GE - (Group Executive) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of United Bank Limited (UBL) Since 2018. He has over 25 years of diverse experience with renowned institutions in Pakistan and abroad specializing in entrepreneurial environments.

As the CIO at UBL, Faisal is Leading & Aligning the Technology Strategy with Business Strategy, Risks & Security Strategy, Data Governance Strategy, Bank technology transformation program among other areas.
 

Previously, He was Chief Technology Officer at Mercury Middle East, Bahrain (2014-2016) where he provisioned and executed IT strategies, policies, road maps and spearheaded Modular Data Center.
 

Prior to the above, he was Group Head (IT & Special Projects) and Chief Information Officer at Bank Islami, Pakistan (2010-2013) where he led process re-engineering initiative, automated and centralized various functions, implemented various software systems, redesigned alternate delivery channels (Internet banking and Mobile service), application architecture & infrastructure.
 

He holds an M. Sc. degree from the University of Westminster, London in Computer Networks and Communications.
 

He is a seasoned Business Technology Executive and a Certified Director from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG).
